- Send service-related communications (order confirmations, security alerts, product updates)
- Generate lawn health insights and maintenance recommendations

- Ensure safety and security of the Services and products
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms

3. Device and sensor data
LawnDrive products collect sensor data during operation, including:
- Mapping data. LiDAR point clouds, visual boundary detection, and GPS coordinates used to create and maintain your yard map.
- Camera imagery. Used for real-time navigation, obstacle detection, and lawn health analysis. Camera data is processed on-device and is not streamed to the cloud.
- Operational data. Battery levels, blade status, motor performance, run duration, and error logs.
- Environmental data. Ambient temperature, moisture readings, and light conditions.
Privacy by design: Core perception and navigation processing happens on-device. Raw camera imagery does not leave the robot. Aggregated, non-identifiable data (such as operational statistics) may be transmitted to improve product performance. You can control data sharing preferences in the app settings.
4. On-device processing
LawnDrive is designed with a privacy-first architecture. The following processing happens entirely on the robot:
- Object detection and obstacle avoidance
- Path planning and navigation
- Pet and child recognition for safety stops
- Yard boundary learning and enforcement
- Real-time lawn health image analysis
Only summary data (yard map outlines, health scores, maintenance alerts, and operational logs) syncs to the cloud for display in the app. You can review exactly what data is synced in your app's privacy dashboard.
5. Information sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:
- Service providers. Companies that help us operate the Services (hosting, analytics, payment processing, customer support). These providers are contractually bound to protect your information.
- Legal requirements. When required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
- Safety. When we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of LawnDrive, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
- With your consent. When you direct us to share information with a third party.
6. Data retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Operational logs are retained for product improvement and safety analysis. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting privacy@drivelawn.com.
